IPOS Fee Updates
The Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS) issued a circular (Circular No. 3/2025) dated 21 July 2025 regarding official fee updates across patents, trademarks, registered design related matters, etc. Details of the fee updates can be found here: https://www.ipos.gov.sg/news/news-collection/circular–fee-updates.
Notably, in relation to patents, the PCT search and preliminary examination fees, the renewal fees, and the request for an examination review report fees will be increased with effect from 1 September 2025. Excess claim fees of SGD 80 for each claim in excess of 15 will apply when filing a request for search and examination report or a request for an examination report.
For applications where the request for a search and examination report, or for an examination report, was filed on or after 1 September 2025, excess claim fees of SGD 80 for each claim in excess of 15 will be payable at the time of responding to the Written Opinion instead of at the time of paying the fee for grant.
