New Patents and Trade Marks Acceleration Programmes
The Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (“IPOS”) will be launching Patents and Trade Marks Acceleration programmes on 20 May 2025 which supersede the SG IP FAST pilot programme that concluded on 31 December 2024.
Under the new SG Patents Fast 4 programme, applicants can expect to receive the first office action within four months of filing; under the new SG Patents Fast 8 programme, applicants can expect to receive the first office action within eight months of filing.
Under the new SG Trade Marks Fast programme, applicants can expect to receive the first examination notice (or notice that the application has been published for opposition purposes, as applicable) within three to six weeks from the date of application.
Conditions apply and acceleration fees are payable under the new patents and trade marks acceleration programmes.
